Jayme
Meet Jayme aka the glue that holds it all together!
Jayme started working as a receptionist at our sister hospital, Redwood Pet Hospital. She needed a challenge so came to work with us at San Mateo Animal Hospital.
After being here for a few months Dr. Haddad, the owner, offered her a special position that would definitely be a challenge. Jayme became Dr. Haddad’s personal assistant, pet sitter, right hand man (or woman in this case) accountant, advertisement manager, PR person, fill in reception when needed…..but more than that she became a valued and reliable friend. Not just for Dr. Haddad but for everyone she meets. Jayme is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
Most recently Jayme has taken over management of our K-9 Social Club. The K-9 Social Club is our very own answer to our clients many needs. You can find, puppy/dog training, professional grooming, doggy daycare, and a plethora of retail specialty foods and toys. Jayme’s ability to wear many hats would floor most people but she accepts the challenges with a smile and ends every sentence with, “Okay, have a GREAT day! “
Jayme lives in Foster City with her beautiful baby girl, Taylor, and her new husband Eddy. Yeah……in between all the jobs she does for us at San Mateo Animal Hospital she found time to get married.

Lan
Lan is our Reception Manager and has been with us for 2 years. Lan has worked at various Veterinary Hospitals on the Peninsula for many years and brings loads of knowledge and managerial experience with her.
Lan started working with us as a highly experienced receptionist. She displays a calm friendly attitude and genuinely loves our clients and their pets (our patients). If you need anything at all ask Lan, she’ll get it for you and if she can’t then she knows someone who will!
Lan has 3 beautiful girls ranging 7 months to 4 years old. When she returned from maternity leave with her youngest daughter we decided to offer her our Reception Manager position, which she gladly accepted. Her attention to detail, ability to communicate, organizational skills, pleasant demeanor and work ethic make her a valuable asset to our team.
Lan resides in Fremont with her new husband, 3 beautiful little girls (human) and a passel of animals. In her spare time (can you believe she actually has some?) she is a scrapbook aficionado, you can see her handiwork displayed in our lobby for our Pet-Of-The-Month, an avid e-bay shopper but her main priority is taking care of her beautiful family.
We are so grateful that Lan is a part of our San Mateo Animal Hospital team.

Rita
Rita has been at San Mateo Animal Hospital for 9 years now. She started fresh out of high school with a mind like a sponge and a genuine love for animals.
Rita was actually a client before she started working with us. She brought her beloved dog CiCi in for an exam, started discussing her love of animals with the owner of the practice at that time and he hired her right on the spot! He took her under his wing and taught her everything she knows and that is a lot!
Her technical skills, attention to detail, quick thinking and positive outlook make her a valued member of our team. She has a natural affinity for pets and quit often can calm the most difficult patients with her calm and gentle demeanor. Rita enjoys animal dentistry and we consider her our very own expert on the subject. As an animal nurse she exceeds our expectations daily.
When not working at San Mateo Animal Hospital Rita creates the most beautiful, natural bead jewelry, she is learning the fine art of cooking and baking, which we all appreciate, and she is currently working hard to obtain her California Registered Veterinary Technician License.
San Mateo Animal hospital would not be the same without her expertise and we are honored that she chooses to work with us.

Sarah
Sarah has been with the team at SMAH for about a year and a half now and has been working as a nurse for close to five years. Working with animals brings a true source of satisfaction and new and exciting challenges every day.
Sarah started out working a kennel technician and within weeks was helping out as a nurse assistant, soaking up as much knowledge as she could and working hard to become a great animal nurse. Now she brings a solid set of skills with her every day and feels that “there is always more to learn” to deepen her knowledge of veterinary medicine and benefit the patients she works with.
Sarah works as many hours as she can fit into her schedule and is a full time student studying Bio-Chemistry. She wants to eventually work in research finding ways to fight cancers, and is determined to “make a difference” for the greater good of our world. Science has always been a passion for her, understanding how things work, not just the concept and with her drive and work ethic we can surely expect great thing from her.
When she is not working and studying, Sarah spends time with her big black cat Rambo and her family dogs Fat Beau, Peggy Sue and Jack. She also loves to be artistic, drawing, painting, making sculptures and ceramic pieces. Her main goal in life is to learn, laugh and make a genuine difference every day.

Angela
Angela ia one of our Registered Veterinary Technicians and has been part of the San Mateo Animal Hospital team for about 5 years now. She starting working with us fresh out of high school and continued while going to Foothill Community College while she obtained her Associates Degree in Veterinary technology.
Angela is meticulous and her attention to detail is admirable. She is patient, compassionate, caring, soft spoken, and we rely on her to take care of our most difficult & frightened patients. Her gentle demeanor often times calms them and allows us to treat them with minimal stress. Without her great attitude and expertise we would be lost.
In her spare time Angela creates beautiful jewelry, is an avid reader and baker of goodies (yum). She lives in San Carlos with her 2 rescued kitties.
